"Metamorphasis" based on M.C. Escher
Another High School project, this being one of my very first Photoshop products! The project focused on repetition and transformation of one object to another. I have a undyingly, unhealthy obsession with pandas, so without hesitation I included them in my pattern and randomly chose butterflies as my poor victim for the project. Took a boat-load of time to complete, and looking back now, I know I could have finished in a couple of hours, instead of a span of a couple days! |
"Joker Stamp"
This is a work that I made for my college computer graphics class. I used Photoshop and Illustrator. The whole purpose of this project was to get a good handle on the pen tool in Illustrator and to learn to simplify images! I wasn't too happy with the placement of the "49 cents". I thought about putting it on top of "Joker", but then I thought it would read funny and there would be too much blank space in the top right corner. (See sample image below) So I finally had to just place it in the corner and call it a day! Original image: http://wallpoper.com/wallpaper/the-joker-298271 |
--All fonts used in the following CD covers are NOT mine! I do NOT claim any ownership/copyright over them and they were not used for retail purposes!--
When I find the time, I will hunt down what exactly each font was and list them in each respectful description column, but for now, all I can say for certain is that I gathered all if not many of the fonts from Dafont.com if you are interesting in using these typefaces for your own personal use--NOT retail gain.

"Danielle's Custom Album" from the CD Covers series
This is my very first CD cover I'd ever created! This was done around December of 2013, after I had felt comfortable enough to try Photoshop on my own. I had such a good time creating this one that I decided to make more as a graduation/Christmas gift to my friends. Obviously I took the color scheme from Danielle's--the girl on the cd--shirt. The pattern was a special brush off of Photoshop Elements 9 that I enlarged and stamped on to give the piece an interesting and textile effect. The one aspect I I am not particularly fond of--looking back now--is the fact that the edges of the figure are messy and prominent. I added this piece to my portfolio to show my progression as a digital artist! *I will not provide the original pictures of the figures as they are borrowed from social media sites!* |
"Swag" from the CD Covers series
One of my favorite pieces out of all of my covers! Something to note, every cover has an idea or theme of sorts. Many of my covers originated from a single idea that grew into an image in my head that I tried to translate digitally. Some did not turn out they way I wanted, but this one was one of the few that I nailed perfectly! The image is of a good friend of mine from a high school dance picture which I found entertaining and used it as a pivotal element in the composition. I had in mind the word "swag" by the way he is stanced and for some reason I thought of galaxies and nebulas immediately afterwards; so I ran with it! I played with opacity and repetition pretty heavily for this piece, but I think what makes the composition interesting are the colors! *I will not provide the original pictures of the figures as they are borrowed from social media sites!* I do not own any of these images or fonts: Original images: http://www.zedge.net/wallpaper/8297108/orange-galaxy/ http://www.mikesastrophotos.com/category/nebula/ |
"Gold Forever" from CD Covers series
Titled from not only the color of the image, but also from one of the songs I put on her mix tape: "Gold Forever" by The Wanted! Not too much to say out this one, except I wanted to keep the integrity of the original image--which I did not put through any filter of my own doing--and so I kept everything relatively simple. *I will not provide the original pictures of the figures as they are borrowed from social media sites!* I do not own the original image or typefaces! |
"Head Full of Doubt" from CD Covers series
Probably my top favorite from the whole collection! I just really love how much of a transformation it went through from the original! The title originates from the song on the mix tape "Head Full of Doubt" by The Avett Brothers. I chose this title after I had finished the cover because I thought it fit perfectly with the white lightening that is hitting the top of the figures head. The or |
